- Desmume
In this version, we have focused on the Cocoa frontend, but there have been some good core fixes over so long. Notably, the save-related issues resulting in the advice 'dont use 0.9.10″ have been resolved.
Head on over to the download page and check it out!
To configure your own controls, however, by heading over to Config Controller Settings and simply change the controls to the ones that you desire, (make sure you hit OK once you finish though to.
- DeSmuME Download: Version 0.3.3 Version 0.3.0 Version 0.0.3. Emulates both CPUs Direct DMA (not on VBlank or others) Supports only Mode 0 Supports sprites No support for extended palettes - sorting of backgrounds and sprites Part of SWI Does not emulate commercial game mainly because of CARDREG.
- Apr 17, 2020 Since DeSmuMe is a standalone program, you wouldn't need an install wizard that other programs require. Therefore installation is a more straightforward process by extracting the DeSmuMe speed up from the zip file. You could then place this emulator in the common folder on your desktop.
- Go to Desmume - Preferences - Input.
Also, don't post bug reports or support requests in the comments. It's a terrible venue for that, and there are other places specifically designed for it, such as, say, the support forum
Turn on JIT (dynamic recompiler) for HUGE speedup:
- For Windows users: in main menu, choose Config -> Emulation Settings, check 'Use dynamic recompiler' or add to command line '––cpu-mode=1″
- For Linux users: add to command line '––cpu-mode=1″
- For Mac users: In the Emulation menu, choose Emulation > Show Emulation Settings. Then in the Emulation Settings panel, select Dynamic Recompiler. To keep JIT as the default setting, click ‘Save Settings as Default'.
WiFi not emulated and not supported!!
We won't make a 3DS/2DS emulator.

can you run DS homebrew? --Calthephenom 00:36, 24 April 2010 (UTC) Ccleaner for mac review 2018.

Good Work
I have to say great work so far, but it appears you have lot of work ahead of you too. Many games don't work, but I'm really excited to see the next few versions which I hope will bring more compatibility. However, isn't a DS emulator a bit ahead of its time right now?--Aj00200 15:27, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Desmume Emulator Controls
- Thanks, yes emulating a DS is pushing the limits of the Wii but for me it's a challenge --Scanff 06:23, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
NDS BIOS question
BIOS files are not required, but will provide a sizable boost in performance, is this correct?
Toagac 20:26, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
- That's what I've heard but really I have no idea, I just added the feature :) --Scanff 06:22, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Dsi capabilities
Since games r now appearing only for the Dsi, is it possible to be able 2 play Dsi roms with this emulator in the future? Also I'd like 2 thank u guys for the good job u put in 2 make this emulator. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rocker91 (talk • contribs) 00:05, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
- Can you even dump DSi only games? I really doubt this will be possible; at least for a while. --bg4545 03:53, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Control Mapping
Desmume Emulator Download
Certain virtual DS buttons appear not to exist in the Wiimote And Nunchuck formation, which makes it impossible to play some of the games that are compatible with the DeSmuME Wii system. Since you can already control the stylus with the remote aiming and A button (which makes the D-Pad stylus control redundant), is it possible to re-map the controls from the user end (such as setting (+) and (-) as DSSelect and DSStart instead of Change Screen Formation, and tying the remaining four unsigned buttons to the Wiimote D-Pad)? --JET73L 18:40, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
DS Interfacing
The Nintendo Channel offers the DS Download service, where the Wii connects directly with the DS via DS Download Play. Since DS homebrew isn't as accessible as Wii homebrew, having the ability to download games directly to the DS sounds very appealing. It would probably be pretty hard, but I'd give a lot for a feature like this. It would be nice because the game would run at full speed; the game wouldn't need to be emulated. Roms do not load
It just brings up a blank white screen, and then, starting blinking, alternating with an error message about how it can't find a .dsv file. Jwguy 10:39, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- When is this? Is it after you select a ROM by its title, in the SD or USB menu after opening the program? --JET73L 12:24, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Zip support
Since roms take up a lot less space zipped, is it possible to eventually be able to load them zipped? Rocker91 17:35, 25 August 2010 (CEST)
Wii vs. Windows/Mac?
Would using the Wii port of Desmume be faster than running it on my Windows/Mac? Just wondering.. --UltimateKuriboh 23:13, 14 December 2010 (CET)
- No, a PC would be faster. --wiisixtyfour 23:52, 14 December 2010 (CET)
How To Change Desmume Controls Mac
- Well, actually, it depends on the specs of your PC :P Unless you're trying to overclock your games, DeSmuME Wii will match the speed of homebrew ROMs and many lightweight (read: purely 2D) official ROMs (some frameskipping may be required for official ROMs though ofc).--Arikado 03:48, 16 December 2010 (CET)

New version
What version is the current Wii port of Desmume based on? Cuz I think there is a new version (0.9.6), and it would be nice to see the improvements. --UltimateKuriboh 23:36, 14 December 2010 (CET)
